Appartamento in affitto in Beusselstraße a Berlin
This gem of an apartment is located in the Mitte-Tiergarten district of Moabit, a stone’s throw away from Charlottenburg and boasts direct views of the River Spree from the balcony and windows. The river is visible from most of the apartment, but best enjoyed on the balcony. Situated on the second floor of a late 19th century Berlin Altbau, the spacious three-bedroom apartment gets a ton of direct sunlight and remains bright throughout all seasons, due in no small part to the 4.30-meter-high ceilings, which are covered with stucco. The combination of herring-bone and ebony detailed wooden floors give the space warmth and a Bohemian flair.
The owners, who work in the music and art industries, have decorated the apartment with a mix of contemporary design and vintage mid-century modern furniture, as well as colorful hand-woven carpets and lots of contemporary art. The first bedroom has both antique furniture and a modern Auping bed for maximum comfort, while the 2nd bedroom can be used both as a study and sleeping space – or, if no second bedroom is needed, as a dining room. A third bedroom is also optional. The apartment contains all important amenities, including both a washer and dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, large bathtub, shower, his-and-hers sinks. The clean courtyard has a well-kept garden and a garage for bicycles. Neighbours are both friendly and helpful. And an English-speaking doctor’s office (GP) is located on the ground floor of the neighboring building.
The neighbourhood is centrally located, with the central station (Hauptbahnhof), Berlin Zoo and Ernst Reuter Platz a 10-minute bus ride. The U-Bahn (U9) and S-Bahn (Ringbahn) are easily reachable by foot, and numerous bus lines connect the neighbourhood to Mitte and Charlottenburg. There are more than half a dozen supermarkets to choose from , including organic (LPG, Bio Company, Al Natura), Turkish Markets, Edeka, Rewe, two farmers markets and more. Some of the city’s best Indian and Lebanese restaurants are directly around the corner – as well as the best hummus in Berlin, hands down. A selection of bars and cafes cater to the neighbourhoods many student residents. For families, playgrounds abound with facilities for all ages.
The city’s most beautiful park, the Tiergarten, is a 10-minute walk away, as are the Technical University and University of Arts and the historical Arminius Markthalle with its special culinary offerings. There are numerous cultural offerings within a 15-minute bus ride including: Deutsche Oper, Kudamm, House of World Cultures (HKW), Victory Column, Schloß Charlottenburg, Hamburger Bahnhof Museum for Contemporary Art and Charlottenburg’s gallery district.
